Had such a gorgeous meal tonight at The Riverside. Although the guys always take the piss out of my life style – the head chef really impressed me tonight with this delicious, fancy meal he cooked for me! This style of cooking is not what you would usually find here, it usually serves hearty home cooked food – always containing some sort of meat or fish.
My dinner was more like something you would find in a swanky restaurant in a city, which was a fabulous surprise and really did make it extra special.
I worked at the riverside for 7 years on and off and have a great relationship with everyone who works there – hence why I even had the option of requesting a vegan meal. I was expecting a stir fry or something simple, so this really took me a back.
It is, Butternut squash purée, pan fried tofu, not sure on the white cream but it was LUSH, almost a garlic purée I think, then stuffed cabbage leaves with chickpeas and veg in a spicy tomato sauce & then crispy parsnip curls!
